Quarantine Chronicles

Life has made me a minimalist. As a child, rushed moves required my family to downsize from one residence to the next. As a young adult, going to college meant fitting my entire life in a closet. Last June, I reduced my life into my 2013 Dodge Avenger to relocate across the country for the #VonneVoyage. Inspired by this period of reinvention, I deleted three years of blog posts from All Things Inspiration.

Then, I came across Lindsay Adams.

Her work was captivating! The first eye-catching piece was “Summer Series: Zen.” It was my mood after my Sunday Siesta a few days ago. It was like Sis painted me in all my femininity without so much as an introduction.

Lindsay lives in the DMV and I live clear across the country in San Diego. As I studied her work and life’s story, I was amazed by her intentionality and strength. Lindsay created beautiful pieces while working through her own challenges with Cerebral Palsy.

The Quarantine Chronicles, in particular, reflected the emotional rollercoaster of the health and racial pandemics that surfaced during 2020. From our vulnerability and boredom to the sense of solidarity, Adams captured the experiences in earthy colors and grounded postures.

The quarantine has inspired a lot of creative expression through TikTok, virtual parties, and this collection by Lindsay. As a result of her work, this blog has returned to showcase artists and writers who embody All Things Inspiration! Thank you, Lindsay!
